![]() Wall mounted home theatre projector from LG. This may be old-ish by now, but we have not heard of any other wall mounted projector, so here goes. Hard working contributor Magnus I.B. mailed in this tip, and we are truly sorry it has been sitting in the mail bag for so long. The LG AN110 was the first (and at the time the only) home theatre projector that could be put on a wall, or placed on a small stand like in the picture above. Maybe it still is. Maybe not. In any case it is pretty smart, and had it been around a couple of years ago, we could have saved ourselves a bunch of holes in the ceiling... The LG AN110 won a design award in the Red Dot Awards 2006. Thanks, Magnus, for letting us know! 5 April 2007 ![]() SD-card with USB connector. It is called the SanDisk Ultra II SD PLUS and to the best of our knowledge, it is the first and so far only SD-card that has a built in USB plug. When you want to download your pictures to your PC you fold the cards shell back to expose the USB connector. Awarded with silver in the computer equipment category in the IDEA Awards 2006. Design Lunar Design and SanDisk. The 1 GB version is currently USD 54:- on Amazon. Very clever. 7 July 2006 ![]() CD and DVD unzipper. When we first stumbled upon this contraption we thought it was pretty lame. Who can't open an ordinary jewel-box? But after thinking about it, and remembering a number of really stubborn CD boxes we have encountered, we have reconsidered our position. This thing is probably just the ticket for a lot of people who can't open CDs without a knife or some similar tool. And in those cases this is a lot safer. It is called the Xipper and it is available in different versions for CDs and DVDs. It even has a safety feature where the little blades are withdrawn when it is not in use. From Solutions at USD 7:95 for a 2-pack with one CD xipper and one DVD xipper. 30 May 2006 ![]() Lost manual? Check this site. If you have lost your manual, or maybe bought some used stuff on E-bay that came without documentation, you have a good chance of finding one here. The UsersManualGuide.com site has collected thousands (to be honest we have not counted them, but there really is a lot) of manuals for lots of different stuff, from motherboards, to cameras, and hi-fi stuff, and washing-machines, and... well, it goes on and on. Someone has put in a huge effort to collect all these. A pity they do not have a function where readers can contribute. Imagine what the combined efforts of all us netizens could do for this site... 2 May 2006 ![]() Camera for the front door eye. Some days are just wall-to-wall thrills. When we got home with the little Cellboost for the dear old Nokia, we found this week's Metro Hus & Hem in the mailbox as usual on Fridays. In the magazine we found an ad for the product above. It is a small video camera that is supposed to replace the door eye in your front door and will connect to your TV and to an additional 7" screen. It is from Active Armour and they want just over SEK 4,000:- (USD 537:-) for it on their webshop. That is way stiff, but we're nevertheless experiencing a strong urge to own one. Thank heavens it is Saturday and the feeling will disappear before Monday... 8 April 2006 THIS SECTION HAS MORE PAGES |..<.....4..5..6.....> DEPARTMENTS | APPAREL | APPLIANCES | BAR | BBQ | BICYCLE | CAR | CHILDREN | COMPUTERS/TELECOM | CULTURE | DVD | EDIBLES | ENVIRONMENT | FLASHLIGHTS/TORCHES | FOOTWEAR | GARDEN | HOME | INTERNET | INVENTIONS A-Z | KITCHEN | KITCHEN FURNITURE | LEISURE | LINKS | META | MISC. | MOTOR CYCLES | OUTDOORS | PETS | PERSONAL CARE | PHOTOGRAPHY | READER'S CHOICE | SAFETY AND SECURITY | SERVICES | SMART STUFF aSTORE | SOLAR POWER | SOUND AND MUSIC | SWEDISH | THIRD WORLD | TRAVEL | TOOLS | VIDEO | WATER | WORK TIPS AND TRICKS | APPAREL | BAR AND DRINKS | BICYCLE | CAR AND DRIVING | COMPUTERS | CULTURE AND LEARNING | GARDENING | HOME | INTERNET | KITCHEN AND COOKING | OUTDOORS | PETS | TRAVEL | WORK AND BUSINESS Did you find the information on this site useful?
