Tubenpresse tube squeezer.
We get all fuzzy and happy every time someone comes up with a smart invention in the field of tube squeezers. We believe it is a human right to be able to get the very last from the tube of your favorite stuff, be it toothpaste or mayo, or whatever. This invention is called Tubenpresse (it is German) and that is good enough for us. It is from AHA Kunststofftechnik and it is designed by Kathrin Westkämper. To use it you put the end of the tube into the slot and then you twist. The Tubenpresse is designed for hair salons, but what the heck, we could use it in the kitchen. It won a Red Dot Award 2005.

Telescoping back scratcher
Telescoping back scratcher.
This product looks a lot like a joke, but we actually think it could do some good. And not only for people who have laser pointers. As our years progress we have noticed an increasing difficulty in reaching the itchy spots in the middle of our back. Places we did not have any problem reaching a few years back... okay, a few tens of years back, then. When such an itch besets us, this thing could be real handy. The picture has been rattling around in our "fun-stuff" folder for weeks now, but the information on the who's, why's and how much's has tragically been misplaced. But if any of you much honored readers out there know, please do not hesitate to enlighten us. We could use one of these.

Self adhesive tape ruler

Tape measure anchor for when you work alone.
It is simple as sin, but simpler is better, non? This tape measure anchor (that is the name of the thing, too) makes it easier to measure those long distances where you previously wished you had a third hand. The anchor sticks to any surface with some kind of reusable goo that is promised not to leave marks. It is USD 8:98 at Get Organized. Thanks to Book of Joe.

Microplane foot file
Microplane foot file.
Microplane is famous for their outstanding woodworking tools and super sharp kitchen graters developed from the same basic idea. Now they have taken another step and are likely to revolutionize another segment. Here comes the Microplane foot file with 95 tiny bi-directional teeth. Like their other products, it works like a dream. Our significant other has many years of experience with foot files and similar tools, and says this one is the best she has tried. Ever. We cannot say if it is out in shops yet, but once there, it will cost somewhere in the vicinity of SEK 250:- (USD 32:-). Maybe a little on the steep side for us guys, but M-L says she would not hesitate a second.
