SMART STUFF | ARCHIVE | OUTDOORS |..<.....8..9..10..11..12.....>...........USEFUL TIPS AND TRICKS Welcome to the Smart Stuff outdoor and outdoor living section with some of the world's smartest gadgets, inventions and ideas for getting the most from your time in the great outdoors. Also browse the useful tips and tricks page for some clever and useful ideas. ![]() Cap with hidden pocket. A while ago we posted on the secret pocket socks for credit cards, cash, and maybe an id card. Now here's the cap. It looks like a regular baseball cap, but it actually has cleverly hidden pockets for you to stash all the stuff you don't want to carry while jogging or whatever you do when you don't want to carry stuff in your hands. From First Street at USD 25:-. Via Book of Joe. 15 October 2006 ![]() Bottle holder. As our regular readers probably know, we have a small faiblesse for small, smart bottle holders for water bottles. We do want our water when we're outdoors on a hot day, but we don't much care to carry the bottle around in our hands. So. We first saw this bottle holder in the Brix Design booth at the Formex exhibition a while back, but then we did not know where it could be bought or ordered. Now we do. Well, we know of one place, at least. The holder can be ordered from Varsam AB's web shop, and it is SEK 45:- (Approx. USD 6:-). 13 October 2006 (friday, actually) ![]() A helping hand when picking berries or chantrelles. The tip on this invention comes from the inventor herself. But, as we have stated many times before, we're not afraid of self promotion here. If you have an invention, and want to tell us about it, we'll be more than happy. That doesn't mean we promise to write a post on it, but we do promise to look every contribution over seriously. Okay, the mail came from Joanna H., the inventor behind the Bärbältet, (the name is a play on words; the Swedish word bär [pronounced a bit like bear] can mean both "berries" and "carry") a carrying device for picking berries, mushrooms or working in the garden. The belt is available in several different configurations, but the basic idea is letting you have your hands free for whatever you have to do. From SEK 295:- (about USD 40:-). 8 October 2006 ![]() Padlock with a key stash. We have posted on the idea of a key stash before, so it is not brand spanking new. But we do think it is pretty smart, so here goes again. It is quite simply a pad lock with some extra space for a key or maybe some rolled up paper money, or something else you want available (but not too available). It is USD 30:- at Sporty's. 15 September 2006 ![]() Spoon, fork, can opener and bottle opener. Everyone who knows us, know we are childishly amused by all kinds of combination tools, so when we found this, it will be no surprise we could not resist it. It comes from Vargo and it is of course a spork. But this tool is more than that; it is also a can opener and a bottle opener which prompts them to re-dub this thing a scork. Whatever. We found it on Dick's Sporting Goods where it is USD 7:-. 27 July 2006 THIS SECTION HAS MORE PAGES |..<.....8..9..10..11..12.....> DEPARTMENTS | APPAREL | APPLIANCES | BAR | BBQ | BICYCLE | CAR | CHILDREN | COMPUTERS/TELECOM | CULTURE | DVD | EDIBLES | ENVIRONMENT | FLASHLIGHTS/TORCHES | FOOTWEAR | GARDEN | HOME | INTERNET | INVENTIONS A-Z | KITCHEN | KITCHEN FURNITURE | LEISURE | LINKS | META | MISC. | MOTOR CYCLES | OUTDOORS | PETS | PERSONAL CARE | PHOTOGRAPHY | READER'S CHOICE | SAFETY AND SECURITY | SERVICES | SMART STUFF aSTORE | SOLAR POWER | SOUND AND MUSIC | SWEDISH | THIRD WORLD | TRAVEL | TOOLS | VIDEO | WATER | WORK TIPS AND TRICKS | APPAREL | BAR AND DRINKS | BICYCLE | CAR AND DRIVING | COMPUTERS | CULTURE AND LEARNING | GARDENING | HOME | INTERNET | KITCHEN AND COOKING | OUTDOORS | PETS | TRAVEL | WORK AND BUSINESS Did you find the information on this site useful?
