We know some towns and cities have severe restrictions on drinking alcoholic beverages in public. But on the other hand we know a lot of places that do not, so we thought we would include this nice picnic kit as our last post for spring, and as an introduction to the hopefully glorious summer that awaits us. This idea is so simple that we think anyone (with a fairly decent workshop) could make their own out of a few lengths of steel rod. (Not that we would encourage anyone to do so, of course.) These pic-nic sticks come in fives; four glass sticks and one bottle stick, and they are USD 30:- on the Red Envelope e-store. 31 May 2006 Merino wool shorts. Have they gone stark ravin'? Woolen shorts? The itch... No, we have not tried them (have you seen the price tag on these?), but we strongly suspect they would be the most comfortable shorts we have ever worn. We do love our merino wool socks, and these shorts are probably just as nice. Merino wool is cool when the weather is hot, and warm when it's cold, and besides they help wick moisture away from the body. Want some. From Howie's at GBP 35:- (about USD 65:-). We have a garden umbrella that look pretty much like the one in the picture. Only white. We can see from the picture that this light would be just the thing, because even on a warm evening it's kind of nice to have the umbrella up over the table. This wireless umbrella light attaches to the umbrella post without tools, sports 24 LEDs and is promised to go for 4 hours on one set of 4 AA batteries (not included). From Taylor Gifts for USD 19:98. 16 May 2006 Showerhead for your used PET bottle. The time will come when we can chill on the beach again. At least we hope so. And we also hope the weather will be warm enough for us to actually feel the need for this product. The climate we live in... But that is besides the point of this post. Here is the showerhead for PET bottles. So you can cool down in the sun, or rinse off the salt with a little fresh water, or have a shower in the middle of nowhere (providing there is a water supply of course. And if you let it sit in the sun, we bet it will even yield a warm shower before tucking yourself in inside your tent. Design Joe Velluto and made by Coro. Via Moco Loco. 21 April 2006 Pic-nic table for two – you provide the view. You attach the stick to the bottom of the table. Then you puch the stick into the ground, snow, sand, plant pot or whatever's handy. And presto! You have a picnic table with holders for two stemmed wine glasses. When you're not picnicing there is a holder provided for the stick. Available in blue or orange plastic. What more is there to say? Cheers, perhaps? From Crate & Barrel for USD 12:95 each.
