SMART STUFF | ARCHIVE | TRAVEL |..<.....2..3..4..5..6.....>......................USEFUL TIPS AND TRICKS Welcome to the Smart Stuff travel and holiday section with some of the world's smartest gadgets, inventions and ideas for travel and vacations. Also browse the useful tips and tricks page for some clever and useful ideas. ![]() Car flashlight. Everyone who keeps a flashlight with dead batteries in their car, please let us see your hands in the air. We thought so. This seems to be a rather common problem; we mean, how often do you check the batteries in the flashlight in the trunk... like us, we guess like never. However, there is help. This 12V flashlight is charged in the 12V lighter outlet in your car and can always be ready for service. Made by Xacta and for sale at Shop Lifestyle for USD 19:95. 5 June 2005 ![]() Tamper proof security tape. What if you want to send something very, very secret in the mail. A list of your best customers and their discounts, for instance. You will want to be sure no one tampers with the package. This is where this tape comes into play. According to Red Ferret, where we found it, your package cannot be tampered with without you knowing about it. The tape is used by pharmaceutical companies to protect shipments containing drugs and the likes. Sold at Archie McPhee for USD 4:95 (ca SEK 36:-) a roll. Via Red Ferret. 25 May 2005 ![]() Simple, smart and cheap travel clothes line. It is a clothes line. How mundane. But a lot of the time it is the everyday chores that go without the smart ideas and innovations. And that is where we need them the most, right? Well, this clothes line attaches to bathroom walls, trees, the masts of a boat, between two bikes or almost anywhere using the hooks or the suction cups. And you do not need clothes pins either, just stick your washing in the twisted line. The line extends to 2,5 meters (some 8 ft 2 in for those that have yet to go metric). It takes up almost no room at all, weighs in at a measly 40 grams (1.4 oz) and will not set you back more than SEK 40:- (USD 5:48) at Resklar. 23 May 2005 ![]() The rechargeable cordless tire pump. This must be the ultimate dream gadget for those of us that irritatingly often (and always too late) discover there is not enough air in our bike tyres. It is called Airman Owl MXP 223 and it is a rechargeable wireless air pump that manages to inflate your car- or bike tyres, footballs, soccer balls or most anything that needs air to be fun. It works either with the built-in rechargeable battery or via 12V from your car's lighter outlet. Made by Danish Airman (Active Tools). If any of our kind and well informed readers know what this thing costs, we'd be thrilled to know, too. We have not been able to find this information on Airman's home page. UPDATE 25 MAY 2005. One of our most excellent readers dropped an e-mail with the address to Conform UK (a site that sells stuff for the disabled) who has the Airman pump. It is either GBP 44:75 (ca SEK 597:-) or GBP 39:95 (ca SEK 533:-). There are different prices on the site. They also have pictures of the different extras. Thanks to Michael Å for dropping a line! 22 May 2005 ![]() Sticky mat keeps your stuff on the dash. Have you ever noticed how stuff tends to enter into zero gravity when you turn a corner a bit too enthusiastically? Bet you have. Now here is something that may keep your stuff down in spite of your cornering style. It is called the Amiketto Mat and it is sort of sticky although it is not sticky like glue is sticky or jelly is sticky. It is just has really, really high friction. Both to what it sits on (your dash) and what sits on it (your Moto or shades), which in turn keeps your stuff put until you need it. The mat measures 17 x 10 cm and will set you back GBP 5:95 at Boys Stuff. 20 May 2005 THIS SECTION HAS MORE PAGES |..<.....2..3..4..5..6.....> DEPARTMENTS | APPAREL | APPLIANCES | BAR | BBQ | BICYCLE | CAR | CHILDREN | COMPUTERS/TELECOM | CULTURE | DVD | EDIBLES | ENVIRONMENT | FLASHLIGHTS/TORCHES | FOOTWEAR | GARDEN | HOME | INTERNET | INVENTIONS A-Z | KITCHEN | KITCHEN FURNITURE | LEISURE | LINKS | META | MISC. | OUTDOORS | PETS | PERSONAL CARE | PHOTOGRAPHY | READER'S CHOICE | SAFETY AND SECURITY | SERVICES | SMART STUFF aSTORE | SOLAR POWER | SOUND AND MUSIC | SWEDISH | THIRD WORLD | TRAVEL | TOOLS | VIDEO | WATER | WORK TIPS AND TRICKS | APPAREL | BAR AND DRINKS | BICYCLE | CAR AND DRIVING | COMPUTERS | CULTURE AND LEARNING | GARDENING | HOME | INTERNET | KITCHEN AND COOKING | OUTDOORS | PETS | TRAVEL | WORK AND BUSINESS Did you find the information on this site useful?
