Svenska Ducatiklubben's road map
Sweden's most thrilling roads.
It has been around for a few years now; we bought the first edition some ten years ago. We did not ride a Ducati then, and we do not now, but this map has given us much enjoyment on the road, both on four wheels and two. Now we just brought home the 2nd updated edition of "Utmärkta vägar" (Excellent Roads) in time for this summer's excursions. We think Svenska Ducatiklubben (the Swedish Ducati owner's club) deserves our gratitude for their work with the map. The 2nd edition covers an area from Skåne in the south to just south of Mora in Dalarna. We recommend this map to all who like to drive interesting roads, bike or no bike. It's SEK 100:- (GBP 7:47) at the Ducati club's home page. Click "Prylar" and scroll down. Buy it and have some fun on the road this summer.

PS. What is so smart about this, we hear from the back benches. Well, as a rule we think it is a lot smarter to have fun than to be bored. And this applies to driving, too. As a small sample we show one of our own favorite stretches, the part between the turn-off from the main Vaxholm road (274) to Vaxholm town, past the old Bogesund palace. Be safe, but do not forget to have fun. DS.

The world's smallest flashlight?
It is tiny but it packs a pretty heavy punch. It is supposed to shine for up to 600 hours on one battery. It is fastened right on top of an ordinary 9V battery and it has two levels of light intensity; one LED or two LED's. We found it on X-trem Geek FOR USD 24:95. Cheap? Naah, but it is small and kinda cool.

A.Stilic Force bag hanger B.Designtorget bag hanger C.Design Against Crime chair with bag hanger

Three bag safe soultions.
Many women feel unsafe at restaurants when they are forced to hang their hand bags or purses on the back of their chairs. They feel that they run the risk of having their possessions pinched. This problem has been addressed in the form of a chair (C) by Design Against Crime, that has a cut out section in front of the seat to allow the handbag to be put there. The chair won a design award, if we are not mistaken, but the problem is that as long as restaurants do not replace their chairs, nothing has been accomplished.

The hooks above are a couple of attempts to solve the problem in a simpler and more economical way. The one on the left (A) comes from Stilic Force. The one in the middle (B) from Designtorget and set us back SEK 75:-.

Both have pro's and con's. (B) has a large rubberized footprint on the table or counter which suggests stability. On the other hand it is made from three different components that has to be assembled. This should make it more expensive to manufacture. Although we have not had the chance to see (A) in the flesh, we think it looks stamped or cut in one piece, which should be less costly. The very narrow footprint could make it wiggly, though. If any of you, dear readers, have had any experience with any of these two hangers, please do not hesitate to let us in on your findings.

The Sunglass Bug The Sunglass Bug

Sunglass bug saves your shades.
This sunglass holder is a pretty simple way to keep your sunglasses out of the way of your butt. And to keep them handy until you need them. This little gadget is called The Sunglass Bug (for obvious reasons) and it fits neatly on your sun visor. There it will guard your shades until you want them. We got ours at Pep Boys, but we have seen them at other places, too. London Heathrow airport for one. You could also try See Fred, where this bug is USD 3:- (about one pound fifty).
