Smart crowbar tick remover.
We do not know how common this is, but we are among the people hos totally hate ticks. These revolting bugs who suck our blood and infect us with disease. A recent bout with Borrelia has not exactly endeared us to the disgusting critters, either. A good tick tool is a high priority piece of kit with us, and one is standard equipment in our outing kit and bathrooms. We have probably tried all the available tick removers in the market, but we have never found a really good one. The other day we found this, though, and it is one we have not seen before. The two (sold in sets of 2) hooks, reportedly invented by a French veterinarian, are different sizes to work on both small and larger ticks. Recyclable plastic. Tick Twister on Amazon is USD 3:95. Pocket sized clothes brush.
We found this innovation in the Quis stand at the Formex design and trends fair last week. Quis is the Swedish Inventors Assn's network for women inventors, and we will come back to some other smart stuff we found with them, but today we will concentrate on this idea for a clothes brush. It is so new, this is only a prototype, but we like the idea. The brush is called Handy Dandy comes from Binnova, and is simply a piece of the brushy material found on miracle brushes combined with a wide elastic band. This makes it easy to bring along in a pocket or purse. When you need a quick brush, just put it on your hand an brush. We have no idea when this thing will be in production, but when it does we will surely get ourselves one or two...

Dog food scoop and bag closer.
It is called Scoop N Fill™, but perhaps Scoop N Close would be more appropriate. Anyway we think the scoop is smart, and deserves a place here. It is from The Home Marketplace where it is USD 5:99 or on Amazon where it is USD 3:99. Via Book of Joe.

Inflatable fog horn or emergency siren.
It is possibly meant to be an emergency signaling device for small boats, but the tip on the siren comes from Christine, who uses it to scare angry dogs on her daily bike trips. We cannot conclude where Christine lives, but she must have a serious dog problem in her neighborhood. We found her tip on one of our favorite sites of all time; Cool Tools. The siren, that looks to be using a re-cycled PET soft drink bottle, is pumped to pressure with a bicycle pump, called EcoBlast and USD 20:- on Amazon.
