SMART STUFF | LINKS |..1..2..3..4 Why do we have separate links pages? We started out with the usual left side bar, but after a time our links collection grew almost out of hand, at the same time as we felt each link needed something of a description. Many have a bit curious names, and it is not always easy to know what they are. Hence this links page. Please note that the links are not arranged in any order of importance or otherwise. Hope you find something you like! Would you like to link to us, feel free to use one of the buttons below. Would you like to exchange links, please drop us an e-mail! Text link directly to the English edition: <p><a href="http://www.smartsuff.se/pages/engelska/eng_start.html">Smart Stuff</a> - Free tips, tricks and shopping hints on the ever growing archive of the world's smartest gadgets, inventions and ideas."</p> Here's what it will look like: Smart Stuff - Free tips, tricks and shopping hints on the ever growing archive of the world's smartest gadgets, inventions and ideas Shiny Shiny Pretty professional on gadgets. Everything you might think of, and then some. Prylfeber Fun Swedish blog on gadgets. Run by the same owner as Bilfeber and Macfeber. Akihabara News The latest from Japan. Flashlight Reviews It's what it says. Nothing more. Nothing less. You have probably never seen such a collection of flashlight reviews.
Featured links Japundit Life in Japan. Interesting and a bit weird. And fun. Don't miss the "engrish" entries. Boing Boing Needs little introduction. Mother of all blogs. Eclectic and always interesting. Has a way to make you read about things you're not a bit interested in. Macpro Swedish blog with lots of useful news for the macisti. Josh Rubin's Cool Hunting Nice designer blog, New York style. Tech Digest British technology site. Lots of tech news. Kevin Kelly's Cool Tools KKCT is one of our all time favourites and one of the inspirations for Smart Stuff. Beware of the archives - you can get lost for hours. Slashdot Possibly the biggest traffic booster of all, except maybe newcomer Digg. If you get mentioned here your servers are almost guaranteed to smoke for a while. Red Ferret Tech news for all over.
Featured links Treehugger Green blog. Good place to find smart energy- or eco-saving stuff and ideas. Technorati Keeps track of who links to who, and figures out a kind of ranking from it. Lets you see who has linked to you. I Am Bored Funny and sometimes weird collection with a very broad spectrum. Almost always guarantees a fun hour in front of the screen, if you're not careful. Nyligen Dear "Nyligen" is Sweden's answer to the blog registration sites. The only one that seems to keep some sort of order. Bra citat One of our other site besides Smart Stuff. Gives you a good, thought provoking quote every day. Read it on the site or take a free e-mail subscription to the daily quote. Version 2.0 has more than 3,000 quotes. Book of Joe An American gass passer passes the off hours blogging on nothing in particular, but is almost always interesting. Every once in a while there's an explaination to something in the med world. Everything and Nothing Missisippi girl on life and everything else. We found it by chance when we were looking for blogs on hurricane Katrina. Check out the tee-shirt designs! We are honored to have been made Honoray Missisippians.
Featured links SUF Showroom The Swedish Inventors' Ass'n page where inventors can post their new stuff. You can find stuff here that aren't even in stores yet. Digg Competitor and maybe future nemesis of Slashdot. Collects interesting stories and lets members rank by "digging". Crate & Barrel American home store. A bit like Habitat. CB2 Crate & Barrel's kid sister. A little cheaper, and somtimes a little more fun, too. Brookstone Like the Sharper Image, below, Brookstone is like Teknikmagasinet on steroids. We know nothing about how Teknikmagasinet started, but maybe this is where they were inspired. Sharper Image See Brookstone above. Organize Everything Considering the volume of organizing gadgetry (boxes, collectors, shelves, etc) in the US, you might think Americans must be the most disorganized people in the world. The truth is they're not, but they do in general have a lot of gadgets, and so they need other gadgets to keep the first gadgets organized. Bed, Bath & Beyond Like Hemtex, Duka and Cervera rolled up into one, with a couple of ounces of Werner & Werner, a pinch of Ikea and a teenzy weenzy bit of Överskottsbolaget. Muji Muji is the original to the Granit and Lagerhaus copies. Muji has also been a favourite even since we discovered it the first time in London. In the eighties, we think. No-one were happier than we were when the Åhlens dapartment store opened a Muji store. Apple iMac, eMac, AirPort, PowerBook, iBook, iPod... You just have to surrender to the style. And remember that Microsoft copied Apple's UI to build Windows. And Apple's Widgets to build Gadgets just recently. Theofils Hardware store for proffessional user, recently opened also for us amateurs. Clas Ohlson Favourite. The shop that is. Not the site, which could need a lot of TLC... Sur la Table American chain of kitchen stores (like Werner & Werner, only better) that sometimes arranges cooking classes with well known chefs. It was in SLT in San Fransisco we found the Messermeister peeler that became our first post on the site in January 2005. Staples Giant American office supplies' store chain. Sponsors of "Staples Center" in Los Angeles. Cabelas Like Naturkompaniet, only bigger. Ikea What can we say? You get it. Design Within Reach Pretty, fun and sometimes even affordable design stuff. SeymorPowell Remember the two cool British industrial designers who solved problems on TV? This is them. And we still cannot understand why the remote controlled house locking system (like the one in your car) never got to market. Segway The unbelievable pepole transport. If you have not seen this contraption IRL, it is very hard to believe. Propeller Island City Lodge Crazy Berlin hotel. A must-stay when we are in Berlin next. Seat Guru Want a good seat on the plane? Want to sit where you can see the movies? Or have room for your legs? Check with Seat Guru before you buy your ticket. Eva Solo Our favourite among kitchen stuff, along with Normann. Their stuff is not only beautiful; they also have a valid thought behind the looks. Apartment Therapy Lots of home decoration (and improvement) for when you're getting down to restore that fixer-upper. Formens Hus (House of Design) Sweden's (and maybe Europ's) biggest design show in tiny Hällefors. Among the displays are Torbjörn Lenskog's huge collection of contemporary design objects, never before displayed in it's entirety. Also has two stunning fifties apartments with all the stuff that was there during the mid fifties in Sweden. Worth a visit for most people. Worth a trip if you're interested in design. Stay the night in fab Grythyttans Gästgifveri or Loka Brunn and satisfy your culinary appetites at the same time. Excel Nice design stuff. The Human Clock Improbable site shows the current time using pictures of people from all over the world. Accepted submissions last we checked. Fireorb Coolest fireplace. On the planet. Ever.
