Cutting board with slot for a plate.
This cutting board has room for putting in a plate to collect the stuff you cut or chop. Could save spreading all the chopped onions all over the counter top. Good thinking, but it requires a plate of the right size to work properly. Maybe one of our earlier finds in the world of cutting boards is smarter yet. We called it "cutaway cutting board" and you'll find it among the links under "related" below. This one's from Chris & Ruby design firm in Berlin. [Via]

Silicone slip-on pouring spout

Silicone slip-on pouring spout.
Of course you'll get some drip and spillage when you try to drain fat or other liquids from a frying pan. It's not made to be poured from. That goes for most pots and pans and other vessels, too. To help, you could try this invention, called the G-Spout (and yes, we get the drift). The spout is made from food grade silicone and can be washed in the dishwasher. It also sports a detachable sieve and is available in three colors; white, red and green. It seem it can be attached to most anything and it can be used for cookie dough, chocolate sauce and a lot of other liquid foods. It's USD 12:99, which seems a bit steep, but we've also found a cheaper alternative for USD 8:-, called the Slip-on Pour Spout, but with this you don't seem to get the sieve. [Via]

Flashlight that attaches directly to a battery - # 4.
It seems that some concepts doesn't leave the inventing community in peace. Take this idea, for instance. A tiny LED light attached right on top of a battery. Smart, fun and usable. It's so small it can go anywhere. The version above is USD 4:99, which proves that they have become a lot cheaper over the years. The first one we found (links below) was USD 25:-, the second one GBP 10:- (at the time about USD 18:-), and the third was USD 10:-. At least some things go the right way... [Via]
