New, smarter clothes pin designed by Giulio Iaccetti for Italian Coop

New idea for a smarter clothes pin.
This may well be a real improvement in clothes pins. At least where we live, where the traditional clothes pin consists of three parts in two different materials. British and US clothes pins are different, if I'm not mistaken. This idea for a new clothes pin is all in one piece and all in one material, which would improve economy in materials and manufacture. Design Giulio Iacchetti. From Italian Coop. The page seems, (excuse our somewhat rusty Italian) to be a show of new designs, where viewers can vote on which product they want to see in the stores. The eleven best scoring are supposed to be produced and distributed throughout the Italian Coop chain of stores. Via Elmanco.

FlipKlip page clamp

Page clamp to keep books open.
It is called FlipKlip and it is a small clamp that you use to keep a book open at the page you need to look at when your hands are otherwise occupied. Like for instance when you are cooking. Why is it that one's cookbook always starts flipping pages by itself when one's hands are at their stickiest? According to the site, the FlipKlip could also be useful for sheet music, crossword puzzles, or when you just want to read in bed and your hands get tired. Available from Miles Kimball for USD 8:99 or from Amazon for USD 7:99. Via this cool site in Japanese.

Dubbelt grillspett för enklare grillning
Double skewer, simpler grilling.
Sometimes (or quite often, to tell the honest to God truth) veggies and shrimps, and some pieces of meat, too, have shown a tendency to rotate when we try to turn our skewers over. The problem with this behavior is of course that the uncooked side tends to end up on top all the time For some reason the cooked side always seem to be heavier. This takes some fine-tuning of the skewers over the blazing grill, which in turn can cause not only burned veggies, but fingers, too. One solution could be to use this double skewer where the pieces of food seem to be locket in place. The smart skewers are probably available from kitchen stores all over the place, but if you can not find any, they are also on Amazon, at USD 9:- for four skewers.

Floor savers in different sizes

Floor savers in different sizes.
Feltrino adesivo. That is what these floor savers are called in Italian. And as floor savers they break new ground, as far as we can see. These are pre-cut to let you choose the size that best fits your coach's legs. Designed by Lorenzo Damiani.

SteriPen, pocket sized UV water purifier

Pocket sized UV water purifier.
It is called the SteriPen and is promised to purify a glass of water in 90 seconds with the help of ultra violet light. UV light is supposed to kill virii, bacteria and protozoa, including Giardia and Cryptosporidia. UV light has been used to purify water for a long time, but this is supposed to be the first time such a device has been made in pocketable size. The SteriPen is USD 99:95 on Amazon among other places. Via Scanorama, the SAS in-flight magazine.
