The one hand glass washer sponge by Stephen Hornbeek
The one hand glass washing sponge.
This dish washer sponge is pretty clever, non? It lets you wash your glasses, cups and the likes using only one hand. All other ways of doing this (except mechanical) requires both hands. We think Stephen Hornbeek of the Cleveland Institute of Art has a great idea with this suction cup sponge. There is no word on production, but if there is any justice in the world that should only be a matter of time. Congrats. Via IDSA and Business Week.

The Paint Buddy paint storage with built-in roller

Paint storage with built-in roller.
This is the Paint Buddy and it is a clever storage device for paint with a small roller built in. The same principle as the common ball point pen. Why no-one has thought of this before is beyond us, but here it is. The idea is you keep the left-over paint from your re-decorating job in the Paint Buddy until you need to do some touching up. The bottle is air tight and the roller replaceable. Made by Shur-Line, a Newell Rubbermaid company, it is sold through home stores and on the net. For instance it is USD 24:95 (ca SEK 190:-) for three at the Home Shopping Network. Via Business Week.

Vinyl player/CD burner combo from Hammacher Schlemmer

Copy old vinyl to CD.
Everybody has a pack of beloved old goldies on vinyl they cannot play anymore but do not want to get rid of. And buying them new on CD is not the same thing is it; the new CDs lack the familiar hisses and cracks and they definitely do not have that special scratch you made at your first party. Here's the answer. An old fashioned vinyl player and CD burner combo. The burner supports CD-R and CD-RW, allows you to pause to skip a song, turn the record over or put another on. The vinyl player takes 33-, 45- and 78 RPM records and has a built-in AM/FM stereo with an analog tuner and a CD player. It also sports adjustable increment control, level control, LCD display and a remote. Available at Hammacher Schlemmer for USD 399:95 (ca SEK 3.000:-), but we cannot say if it comes in a version for 220/230 V with a Euro plug.

Ring for girls who will not be victims Ring for girls who will not be victims Ring for girls who will not be victims

For girls who will not be victims.
Every year thousands of women are sexually abused and hundreds are raped. All women who do not wish nothing more than to be left in peace. How many would have been able to stand their ground with this both handsome and probably effective self defence ring? The ring, that can give a small but crucial advantage, is made by Redstart design in the US and they want USD 75:- for it in silver with stainless steel rivets. Note! Check with your local Police and legislation before purchase. This device might be illegal in some states and countries.
